The hard drive on my laptop is dead. I cannot fix it at this time. I am asking for help in locating a computer or laptop with SKYPE (audio/video) for a job interview in Florida on Tue Nov 3rd at 11:45am. I am willing to either pick up the laptop or come to the home of whomever has a computer on Mon Nov 2 to verify SKYPE is working. If at someone’s home then I will need to be there on Nov 3 around 11:15 am to set myself up.
This is really important to me.

From Lydia Rios and family : My husband and I have lived in Rifle for 10 years. We have two young sons; 8 and 4 years. We have been selected to do some volunteer work in Mongolia both teaching English and assisting in rangeland management promoting best practices. Though we are being permitted to leave from our positions from work we will be doing so without pay. Our entire family of four is embarking on this humanitarian effort. We are sort of racing against the clock as it would have us leaving in less than 30 days! My husband and I are extremely involved with our community (i.e. church, Boy Scouts, Habitat for Humanity, 4-H, local fundraising for community projects, volunteering at lift-up and library, etc), so this would be an adventure that we would come back and share at many levels. For any questions, do not hesitate to call us at 970-217-8189. We thank you for your consideration to donate to this mission!

Hello sunshine! I’m not complaining at all about this rain (I haven’t even turned my sprinklers on this year!), but I am sure glad to see the sun today! And with the sun comes lemonade. The Rifle Farmers’ Market is on Thursday evenings this year from 4-8pm beginning June 18th through September in the 2nd Street Community Lot. The Market is looking for volunteers to staff the 2nd Annual Lemonade Stand. I went ahead and signed the Mermaids up for Thursday July 23rd. If you can help, please let Anna know (970-618-9657) or just show up when you can! Volunteers are needed from 3-8:30 but if we can take turns that would be great. We can also come up with a creative theme to help sales. Last year Grand River Hospital did pink lemonade for Breast Cancer awareness and they were the biggest seller!
Every penny made at the Lemonade Stand goes towards providing funds for S.N.A.P. (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, formerly called Food Stamps) users to purchase fresh, local, and healthy foods from the Rifle Farmers Market vendors. For each user that brings in their SNAP card to purchase market tokens, the Rifle Farmers Market provides an additional $6 match. It is a win-win for the market. Not only does it provide a much needed service to community members, but we also connect local farmers and producers with more consumers. More money to vendors means the Rifle Farmers Market can continue to thrive, giving the committee a chance to recruit even more fruit and veggie producers to the market.
Here are the other dates available if you can’t make the July 23rd market but still want to volunteer:
June 18th Rifle Library
July 9th Garfield County Health
July 23rd Mermaids
July 30th Grand River Hospital
August 13th New Ute Theater Society
September 10th Wamsley PTAC (tentative)
